BACHELOR COMPETENCIES
URBAN ENGINEERING AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The study program provides through the curriculum structure and content the following professional competences:
- Structural design for civil, industrial and agricultural buildings belonging to the earthquake importance and exposure classes III and IV as defined within P 100-1/2006 design code;
- Coordination within local and/or central authorities, projects/programs involving localities infrastructure;
- Project management and development/rehabilitation programs of localities;
- Working in multidisciplinary teams to identify, analyze and propose solutions to solve malfunctions occurred at national, regional, county and local levels in terms of infrastructure;
- Designing and constructing roads of local interest;
- Designing and construction of urban water supply and sewerage systems;
- Drawing up the documentation for integrated urban development;
- Supervising and management of the construction works;
- Studies and technical-economic documentation to substantiate investments;
- Planning, organizating and management of technical, economic and human resources for construction works;
- Use of modern information systems in construction and public administration, including GIS;
- Teamwork and understanding of responsibility and professional ethics, professional communication in Romanian language as well as in an international language.

- in administrative structures, groups or associations engaged in the fields of civil engineering, urban planning, spatial planning and regional development;

URBAN AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The study program provides through the curriculum structure and content the following professional competences:
- Structural design for civil, industrial and agricultural buildings belonging to the earthquake mportance and exposure classes III and IV as defined within P 100-1/2006 design code;
- Drawing up the documentation for integrated urban development;
- Accession of European structural and cohesion funds and management of investment projects;
- Management of civil engineering organizations;
- Drawing up and assessment of the technical documentation and documentation for public procurement for contracting investment activities;
- Abilities in investment cost engineering;
- Management and organizing of exploitation and maintenance activities in
civil engineering; - Assesment and updating of general estimates for investments;
- Drawing up of research and development studies and reports in the field of
urban engineering; - Drawing up of the documentation for assessment and prevention / reduction of natural risks;
- Teamwork and understanding of responsibilities and professional ethics;
- Professional communication in Romanian language as well as in an international language.
Prospects for specialization “Urban Engineering and Regional Development” are directly related to the complexity and depth of integration processes of Romania in the Euro Atlantic structures.
The civil engineer the profile of this with specializationis is ready to ensure catalyzing the implementation processes on a bigger scale at the local, county, regional and national level, of the partnership between public and private entities in the complex, inter and multidisciplinary construction and land management, in urban and rural areas of our country.
The usefulness of this type of specialist appears clearly from the analysis of the experience of developed countries and refers to employment that began to be created in our country, in areas such as central and local public administration, planning and execution companies, in urban design and planning companies , investment, mortgage, credit and transactional banking.
